2. Title: Talking about the present situation

[Step. 1]（10 minutes from 17:40～17:50）
Mr. Makoto Suzuki would present a short-prepared speech with some explanation on why he made his speech. Listen carefully so that he would feel as if he were in front of a large audience. This is one of our attempts to encourage various kinds of English training. So, if you would have spare time after our meeting, please be kind enough to send an e-mail on your impression of his speech to his own e-mail address, which he would announce later. Hence, don’t hesitate but don’t send your comments to the Round Table.
[Step. 2］（17:50～17:55）
Make some groups and make pairs in each group. If you don’t have any partner, find one in the other group. If there is no partner in all groups, staff will be your partner.
[Step.3] 1 minute to speak （5〜10minutes）
These are1-minute speeches. Talk about one topic for 1 minute. Your partner just listens. After your talk, exchange the speaker. Staff would be a timekeeper. The topics are as follows.
The rainy season, G20 summit meeting, term exam, school excursion, summer greeting cards, earthquake, traffic accident, the anniversary of your deceased family, summer greeting gifts, physical exercise, abnormal weather, air conditioner. drug-resistant bacteria, and consumption.
[Step. 4] Free conversation (25〜35 minutes)
Please gather in each group.
Please introduce yourself quickly and talk about your present situation one by one. You can continue your talks and discussion. You can talk about any topics. If you don’t have any topics, you can use our topics, such as “cell phone” or “good memory in my life”.
[Step. 5] Dialogue (10〜15 minutes)
Staff would distribute the number cards. A person with the same number would be your partner.
Talk freely with each other.
