What's New at Kyoto NHK ESS?

Dear Kyoto NHK ESS members,
This is the announcement of the latter half practice on July 12.
☆Title:
"Washoku (和食) the traditional Japanese cuisine" Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Washoku's inciusion in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, the special exhibition of Washoku(traditional Japanese cuisine) was held in the Museum of Kyoto. Let me introduce the content briefly and discuss the reason why it is attracting and increasing attention around the world.
☆Procedures:
1 Make some groups.
2 Warm-up quizzes about vegetables
3 Watch video "Washoku the traditional dietary cultures of the Japanese" and fill in the blanks.
4 Exchange your comments in your groups.
(1)When you hear Washoku, what comes to your mind first?
(2)What your favorite Washoku and why?
If you have a special episode about it, please share with your group members.
(3)What’s do you think are the characteristic points of Washoku?
(4)Before Washoku, four other culinary heritages had been registered. Do you know what are they?

2. Please have a free conversation about a variety of the rules with reference to the handouts.

Here are some key point of the conversation.

Dear ESS members,

This is an announcement of the song practice I will hold on Aug. 2.

I will bring my ukulele and concertina.
We will make several groups and then I will distribute the lyrics cards.
Then, I will sing the songs we are going to sing in the summer party to my instruments. If you know the song, please sing with me.
Then, we will have some discussion time. If you are not sure about the pronunciations, meanings and implications of the lyrics, ask the other members. I might bring some questions to discuss.
Finally, all the members who want to sing with me will sing.
