2013-04-06 プラクティス予告

Dear Kyoto NHK-ESS member
This is the information about the practice on April 6.

(1) Genre: Discussion

(2) Title: Interview with historical persons

(3) Description:

This practice is how to ask your original questions, unique questions and funny request for historical persons. I guess you studied history and you are interested in history. You know a lot of historical persons. Do you want to meet them? Who would you like to meet if you could meet them? Would you like to ask any questions? Would you like to request them to make their performance?

[Step. 0]

Please make some groups.

[Step. 1]

Who is your favorite historical person? Please introduce your favorite historical person. A historical person is defined as a real dead person. Other member can ask any questions about this introduction.

**************************************************************************************************

Ex.

I introduce 西本幸雄.

He was a manager of professional baseball teams,毎日,阪急 and 近鉄. He won pennant race 8 times in Pacific League. Bu he has never won in Japanese series. Therefore he was sometimes called a tragedy general. But I don’t think so. His accomplishment was so great. He took over a weak team and trained players and made the strong teams. And he developed famous player, for example 山田, one of the best underhand pitchers, 福本, stolen base champion in Japan. And he made an impressive match scene, for example 近鉄 vs 広島, which is well known as 江夏の21球. ・・・・・

Q. I knew that his performance as manager was so great.

How was his performance as a player?

・・・・・・・ **************************************************************************************************

[Step. 2]

If you could meet a historical person and ask a question, who would you like to ask? What question would you like to ask? What answer would you expect? If the others of your group can imagine an answer, please discuss the answer. At first please introduce your choosing person briefly

**************************************************************************************************

Ex.

I would like to meet Isaac Newton.

He was a scientist, born in UK. Almost all know him. His accomplishment was so great, for example he discovered the law of gravitation and made classical mechanics, ・・・

My question is following.

“ I heard that you had discovered gravity and the law of gravitation by watching a falling apple. Didn’t you discover gravity by watching cherry blossoms falling in the wind? Why not? ”

I imagine his answer as following.

” Falling cherry blossoms is so beautiful. I forget everything during watching the scene. But I have few chances to watch them because there are not so many cherry blossoms in UK compared to Japan. If I had watched them many times, I might have gotten interested in drag, lift, turbulence, viscosity about air. And I might have made the more accomplishment to be related to fluid dynamics.・・・“

**************************************************************************************************

[Step. 3]

If you could meet a historical person and request them to make their performance, who would you like to meet? What performance would you like to request? What performance would you expect? If the others of your group can imagine a performance, please discuss the performance. At first please introduce your choosing person briefly.

**************************************************************************************************

Ex.

I would like to meet 坂本竜馬.

Almost all Japanese know him. He was born in土佐. He established 海援隊 which was a trading company and a political organization. He contributed to the return of political power to the Emperor by the Tokugawa shogunate. But he was assassinated at 31 years old. He couldn’t see Meiji Restoration. ・・・

My request is following.

“I would like to request you to implement an energy policy in present Japan.”

I imagine his performance as following.

“I will stop nuclear power plant in 5 years. I encourage nuclear engineering how to treat with nuclear waste and how to decommission reactors. I insist that there are a lot of natural phenomenon in Japan. And Japan has been making progress in technology. I emphasize development of alternative energy by using natural phenomenon, such as wind power, tide power, solar power, geothermal power and so on. I keep our beautiful country・・・”
