2013-4-13 プラクティス予告

Dear Kyoto NHK-ESS member

This is the announcement about the practice on April13.

Genre:Discussion

Title: Love

We discuss about love; ``What is love? Do you believe love makes us change the world?``

Description:

1.Make some groups.

2.We discuss about love in the group based on below questions.(17:40-18:20)

(1)We have many kinds of love; love for men and women, love for family and love

for friends, and love for mankind. When do you feel `love` in your daily life?

Please talk about love based on your experience.

(2) We enjoy love from your surrounding; family, friends and so on in the daily

life. On the other hand, lots of people suffer from poverty, discrimination

and abuse in the wprld. Many people die in the poverty, sacrificed one`s life

for the war and commit suicide. Is it possible to save those people by the power

of love? Conversely, it is just ideal, it is impossible for us to save them.

What do you think of it?

(3) Religion is rooted deeply in our society. Love is the important creed for each

religion. One of the important doctrine for Buddhism is forgiveness and mercy.

Shinran(親鸞)taught even if you are evil, belief in Buddha leads you to

salvation. The center creed of Christianity is love to neighborhood. This is

unconditional love. Even though you give love to others, you would not expect

giving back it. If we act based on religious belief, we would achieve no

war, no hatred, no crime and no discrimination. But, we have not accomplished

yet so far. Do think our deed being loyal to the religious belief can solve

those problems?

3. We discuss about love as a whole. (18:20-18:40)

Especially, we discuss upper two propositions; The first one is `is it possible

for us to save people in the all over the world by the power of love?` The another

one is ` Does being loyal to the creed of religion lead people to salvation from poverty

and suffering in the world?`

2013-4-27 プラクティス予告

This is the announcement about the practice on April 27.

Dear KYOTO ESS members.
Genre: Quiz
Title : [ Guess who I am ]

we are going to do simple quiz. (I wonder somebody has done this game before but this must be good practice.)
Bring an English-English dictionary if you have one of those.

How to play the game
step1 : make a group consists of 4 or 5 members.
step2 : Choose one player(a person who prepares questions). The player decides an answer(Who you are or what you are).EX: animal , stationery , fruit whatever. It is not necessary to be human’s name. The answer must be unknown to the others.
step3 : The others ask questions one by one to the player. (Do not ask a name which the player is pretending to be!)
step4 : Everyone asked a question then, check your answer. If nobody hit the correct answer, return to step3.(The player can give a small hint then. Such as, “I’m a kind of animal.” “I live in the ocean.”)

Take turns to play the player.

(EX)
Person A “How large are you? Player “You can hold me in your hands”
Person B “What color are you?” Player “My skin is generally red, but some of us are green. Inside of me is white.”
Person C “Are you cubic?” Player “No, I’m spherical.”
Person D “Can I eat you?” Player “yes you can. So, who do you think I am?”
Person A “Are you an APPLE?” Player “yes I am!”

This is very basic training. Let’s give it the shot!!
